Queensland have extended their winning streak in the annual Under 16 Origin to two, after defeating New South Wales 10-6 in Sydney on Wednesday night.

The Blues got on the score sheet first with a powerful run close to the line by South Sydney centre Campbell Graham. The kick from the sideline converted by five-eighth Luke Metcalf.

Travis Turnbull, who is contracted to Parramatta, was a stand-out for the Maroons. He fought his way over the try-line after an inside ball from centre Clayton Mack. Turnbull converted his own try and levelled the scores.

It was defensive battle for the rest of the game, with handling errors creeping in as the game wore on.

The 6-all deadlock was broken close to full time after Townsville's Nathan Barrett found space from a Max Dowd short ball to give Queensland the lead, 10-6.

That's how the score would remain, after a final Blues' raid was subdued in the final minute by some strong defence by the Maroons.

Queensland's halfback, Dray Ngatuere-Wroe, was named man of the match.

Qld 10 (Travis Turnbull, Nathan Barrett tries; Travis Turnbull 1/2 goals) def. NSW 6 (Campbell Graham try; Luke Metcalf 1/1 goal) at ANZ Stadium.
